TIME DIFFERENCE
The time difference between Cairns and World standard time is 12 hours, and only a 1-2 hour time offset from Japan.CLIMATE
Cairns has
two distinct seasons; the "dry" season (or
winter) from
May to October with temperatures ranging from 18-28 degrees Celsius.
During this period you can expect beautiful sunny days and balmy
nights. The tropical summer, or "the wet" extends from
November to April with temperatures ranging from 23-31 degrees
Celsius. The months with most rain and stormy weather are December
and January.
CLOTHING
Comfortable,
light, loose casual clothing in cotton or natural fabric is recommended all year around.
If you intend to follow a
work-experience course you need to ensure you have suitable clothing conforming to
industry standards (check with the college for details).
